Robert McMillan
and James Singletary
both grew up in DeFuniak Springs, FL and have known each other since
1984 when they won a talent contest at Walton High School, as a country
act. Now, as 'Robert and James', they are performing Christian Country
music.
In September of 2006, the duo recorded an album entitled "Standing in
the Sun", which has eight original Singletary songs featuring McMillan
on lead vocals. When this recording made it to the president of the
Christian Country Music Association (CCMA), one thing led to another,
with the end result being a contract with the promotion company, HMG.
"Don't Tell Me He's Not Real" was released as the album's first single
to Nashville radio in September 2007. Fred Bacher, radio personality at
WDJR, Dothan, AL started playing the song and interviewed Robert and
James on his SON Country program. The single debuted at #10 on Bacher's
SON Country chart, which will be heard all over Alabama, Georgia and
Northwest Florida.
Since they began promoting their album in July '07, their Myspace has
exploded! Doors keep opening - it's an answered prayer.
We
